It is finally time to make a complete break from the old system and commit to the new system. There has been some enormous amounts of work going on behind the scenes, and now it is time to see how the public reacts to the new system. I should mention that some updates done on the new system have messed up tabs and date formats, but hopefully these will get fixed in short order. Plans at this point are to continue taking down Douthit pages and folders from the oldest and working through to the current Douthits. Then we can focus on expanding information as it comes in, and not have constant conversions to go through!
So now the first folder has been taken down and all the data in the new format verified once again for those pages.

I had forgotten about this news portal, and so must apologize. There have been some major changes to the website. Instead of struggling with site development, information updating, and information assembly, it was decided to leave the development to others so we can focus on data input.

Our new program we chose to use had to be highly modified to get it to work for us normal folks. It was designed for serious genealogists, and so not user friendly at all. The modifications we made seem to be working, but if we need to do more, please let us know.

The new setup unfortunately is very different from the old, but it enables a much better means of updating and adding information. It also offers a whole bunch of features that may not be obvious at first.

The other sad part is that transfer to the new system is going to take years to accomplish at my current lonely rate, and we have loads of information to get ready to present. All new material is going into the new system, and the old material is slowly and consistently being upgraded and transferred.

This project is somewhat frustrating because there is no end to it, and it is only as good as the information that families will provide. People today are not family oriented, nor do they want to proudly display their families. This sad fact makes this a very lonely task. People want to see all kinds of stuff about their families but do not want to share anything. Interesting dichotomy! But as God enables, we hope to continue to provide this gift to our relatives.

A bunch of little facts were gathered from the local newspaper on Dan and Lola Erhardt, bringing their page to life.
