| Ordained |
- He was ordained at Davis Creek Baptist Church. This was a predestinarian church, meaning it held the belief that those who are going to get saved are "predestined" or predetermined to do so, based on God's foreknowledge of all things. Before God created the world, He was able as God to look ahead and predetermine all those who would become His believers and followers, as taught in Romans 8 and other passages of Scripture. This belief was in opposition to those that felt you must pray and work your way into God's good grace, and thus never able to know in this life if salvation had been granted.
