    Douthit Digs and Dibbles

    How is that for a name? I have been trying to think of an old word for digging and remembered a tool I had learned about quite a few years ago. It was a very odd looking tool, and I have not heard of it since. If I remember correctly a Dibble was a cone shaped tool that was used to not only help dig the soil, but it also helped pull weeds and plant seeds and bulbs. Thus it was one of those must have simple tools that were easily whittled into shape from the firewood pile and then used constantly in everyday life in the garden. So we will see how this goes, and if we don’t like it may go back to diggings or something else!
